The show might not go on for Center Stage Inc., a nonprofit theater group in Monrovia, after their truck and trailer loaded with stage props were stolen overnight. The theft was discovered early Tuesday morning when Keely Milliken, owner of Center Stage Inc., stepped out of her house to prepare for the third week of their summer camp for “Annie Jr.”

“This morning around 7 a.m. I walked out of my house to start getting ready for our third week of summer camp for ‘Annie Jr.’ and our truck and trailer were no longer in front of our house,” Milliken told KABC7 in an interview after the theft was reported.

The theater group had just completed their production of “Legally Blonde the Musical” on Monday night and had packed the set into the trailer. The theft comes at a critical time as they are gearing up for the opening night of “Annie Jr.” on Thursday.

In response to the theft, the community has rallied around Center Stage Inc. Volunteers and local residents are pitching in to help in any way they can, from spreading the word to offering assistance in recovering the stolen items.

The theater group is also exploring options for renting replacement equipment to ensure that “Annie Jr.” can open as scheduled.

Anyone with information about the stolen truck, trailer, or props is urged to contact the Monrovia Police Department.

As the community comes together in this time of need, the hope is that the show will indeed go on, preserving the hard work and dedication of everyone involved at Center Stage Inc.
