El Monte, a city known for its vibrant community and business-friendly environment, is about to experience a major boost in its retail and dining options. Over the past year, city officials have been in talks with several major retailers, restaurants, and coffee houses, and the results are finally here. El Monte residents can look forward to the arrival of some well-known names, including Chick-fil-A, Target, In-N-Out, Raising Cane’s, and Starbucks.

One of the most highly anticipated additions to El Monte is the retail giant, Target. Scheduled to open its doors in October 2024, Target will be located at 3610 Peck Road, occupying the former Sears Outlet building and two adjacent vacant retail buildings. The construction is already underway, and the store will offer an impressive 127,879 square feet of retail space, along with ample parking for 372 vehicles. Within the Target, residents can expect to find popular tenants such as Target Optical, CVS Pharmacy, Starbucks, and Ulta Beauty.

Another exciting addition to the El Monte landscape is Chick-fil-A. This beloved fast-food chain will be situated at 3340 Santa Anita Avenue and will cover an area of 851 square feet. With seating for 98 indoors and 44 on the outdoor patio, Chick-fil-A will also feature a convenient drive-thru capable of accommodating up to 29 vehicles. The construction for this project is currently underway and is expected to bring up to 120 full-time and part-time jobs to the El Monte community. Additionally, it is anticipated to generate an annual sales tax revenue of up to $113,000, contributing to the growth and prosperity of the local economy.
The El Monte Center Drive-Thru Pad redevelopment project will bring

three more popular food chains to the city. In-N-Out, Starbucks, and Raising Cane’s will be part of this exciting development, located at 3748 Peck Road. The project aims to provide a modernized dining experience that meets the evolving needs of consumers. Plans for the project include updating the site’s landscaping and incorporating outdoor seating areas and green spaces to create a welcoming environment for customers. The project will be subject to a public hearing within the next five months, ensuring community engagement and input.

The arrival of these major retailers, restaurants, and coffee houses is not only a testament to El Monte’s business-friendly policies but also a significant enrichment for the local community. The new establishments will bring more job opportunities, tax revenue, and increased options for shopping and dining.

Whether it’s a shopping spree at Target, savoring the delicious chicken sandwiches at Chick-fil-A, enjoying a cup of coffee at Starbucks, or indulging in the mouth-watering burgers at In-N-Out and Raising Cane’s, El Monte is about to become a destination for retail and dining enthusiasts.
