A significant addition to local education resources, the El Monte Union High School District (EMUHSD) is set to unveil its new Family and Community Engagement Center on Wednesday, March 26. This event, marked by a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 5 p.m., will introduce a facility aimed at bolstering community and family engagement across the district.

Located at 1001 N. Durfee Ave. in South El Monte, the center represents a pivotal step in EMUHSD’s ongoing efforts to enhance educational support and community services. It was funded through Supplemental and Concentration resources and Fund 40 Capital Outlay, emphasizing the district’s investment in its constituents’ welfare.

The significance of the new center extends beyond its physical boundaries. It is poised to become a central hub for district-wide workshops and key events, such as the annual Posada in December. With offerings that include sessions designed to help working parents support their children’s education, as well as workshops on mental health, stress management, and the importance of state assessments, the center is tailored to meet a wide range of community needs.

Features of the new facility include a state-of-the-art meeting room equipped with advanced technology, modern finishes, a welcoming exterior, a conference space, a kitchenette, and a nursing room. These amenities are designed to create an inviting and functional environment that fosters collaboration and engagement among families and community members.

With the opening of the Family and Community Engagement Center, EMUHSD is set to expand the scope and accessibility of its community support services, reinforcing its commitment to the development of both individual students and the community at large.

The broader community is invited to attend the ribbon-cutting ceremony to glimpse the new facility and learn more about the programs and support services that will be available. This event not only marks a new chapter for the district but also strengthens the framework for community and educational growth in the region.
