Baldwin Park will host its fifth annual Mental Health Awareness Run/Walk/Bike event on Saturday, May 17, in recognition of Mental Health Awareness Month. The community-centered day begins at 9 a.m. at Morgan Park, located at 4100 Baldwin Park Blvd. The event includes a one-mile walk, run, or bike ride, followed by live music and a vendor fair.
Mayor Alejandra Avila emphasized the importance of the event and its message. “In Baldwin Park, we believe that mental health is just as important as physical health,” she said. “This event is a reminder that support, connection and awareness can make a real difference.”
All Ages Welcome for Walk, Run, or Ride
No registration is required, and participants of all ages and backgrounds are encouraged to join the one-mile route. Each participant will receive a medal in appreciation of their involvement. From 9 a.m. to noon, the vendor fair will feature informational booths, food vendors, and live music. Local band Sangria is scheduled to perform from 10 a.m. to noon.
The City aims to make mental health resources more accessible and visible through this annual gathering. Representatives from the California Mental Health Connection will be present to provide information and support, along with other community organizations.
Resources and Support on Site
The event is part of Baldwin Park’s broader mental wellness advocacy efforts. The City has continued to support outreach that connects residents with local services and encourages mental health check-ins among family, friends, and neighbors.
Mayor Avila urged the community to remain proactive. “I encourage members of our community to check in on their loved ones and those who are struggling with their mental health to reach out for help,” she said. “Remember, you are not alone. Together, we can build a stronger Baldwin Park where every resident is happy, healthy and supported.”
Building a Stronger, Healthier Community
As mental health remains a growing priority in many communities, events like Baldwin Park’s annual run/walk/bike are designed to foster connection and raise awareness. The City invites all residents to participate and show support for a cause that affects people of all ages.
