For parents eager to strengthen family relationships, the Triple P Positive Parenting Program seminar offers practical tools and compassionate guidance. Led by a Triple P–accredited librarian, the free in-person session will be held at Baldwin Park Library on Wednesday, September 24, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Attendees will learn positive parenting strategies designed to reduce conflict, encourage cooperation and build lasting bonds with children ages 3–12.

Positive Parenting Seminar Empowers Families
Triple P, developed by the University of Queensland’s School of Psychology, has been proven in more than 35 years of research to improve child behavior and parental confidence. This Level 2 seminar introduces simple techniques—such as setting clear expectations, using effective praise and maintaining calm consistency—that parents can apply immediately at home. Participants will explore real-life scenarios, discuss common challenges like tantrums and bedtime battles, and leave with tip sheets to reinforce new skills.

Seminar Offered at Baldwin Park Library
The Baldwin Park Library, located at 4189 Baldwin Park Towne Center, will host the seminar in collaboration with the Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health (DMH) and funded through the Mental Health Services Act (MHSA). Registration is required to reserve a spot, and attendance is limited to ensure an intimate, interactive environment. Parents and caregivers should register each individual attendee to save their place. No walk-ins can be guaranteed, so early sign-up is advised.

Attendance and Registration Details
To register, visit the Baldwin Park Library event page or call the library’s information desk. Interested families can also learn more about Triple P and access additional resources online at Triple P International’s website: https://www.triplep.net/. All seminar materials are provided at no cost, and light refreshments will be available. Participants who complete the seminar will receive a certificate of attendance, which may satisfy certain benefits requirements through school districts or community programs.

Community Benefits and Responsible Parenting
By promoting positive parenting techniques, the seminar supports healthier childhood development and stronger community connections. Research shows that families who use Triple P methods report fewer behavior problems, reduced parental stress and improved family harmony. When parents model respectful communication and consistent boundaries, children are more likely to succeed in school, develop empathy and contribute positively to neighborhood life. In turn, communities benefit from lower rates of youth behavioral issues and greater civic engagement.

Looking Ahead
The Baldwin Park Library plans to host additional Triple P sessions throughout the year, including specialized workshops for parents of teens and seminars tailored to families of children with disabilities. Future dates will be announced on the library’s website and social media channels. Parents are encouraged to follow the library’s newsletter for updates and to explore the full range of free community programs available to Baldwin Park and neighboring cities.
