California’s housing market continues to show steady activity as September 2025 closes, according to the latest data from the California Association of REALTORS®. For the week ending September 27, 2025, real estate professionals across the state reported consistent movement in sales, listings, and pending transactions.
Sales and Listings Remain Strong
On average, 534 homes closed each day during the week, while pending sales averaged 565 per day. New listings outpaced both, with 648 properties entering the market daily. These numbers point to a busy end of September, though REALTORS® reported mixed results compared to the previous week.
Weekly Performance of REALTORS®
Nearly one-quarter of REALTORS® statewide—23.7 percent—closed a sale during the week, a slight dip of 0.9 percent from the week prior. Meanwhile, 23.2 percent entered escrow, showing a healthy 9.4 percent increase. Listings saw a decline, with 27.3 percent of REALTORS® bringing a property to market, down 6.6 percent from the prior week.
Looking Ahead: REALTOR® Expectations
Survey results collected by the association reveal what real estate professionals anticipate for the week ahead.
- 14.4 percent believe sales will rise, though that’s a 9.1 percent drop from last quarter’s outlook.
- 7.5 percent expect prices to increase, down 1.9 percent.
- 44.8 percent predict more listings, though confidence slipped by 2 percent from the last quarter.
These trends suggest steady buyer activity but also a cautious outlook on prices and sales volume as fall begins.
Community Relevance
For residents of the San Gabriel Valley, including El Monte, Baldwin Park, and surrounding cities, the data reflects a market with opportunities for both buyers and sellers. New listings remain plentiful, giving prospective buyers more choices. Sellers should be aware that while sales are moving, pricing optimism has softened. Local REALTORS® advise both sides to stay informed and watch for shifts as the year heads into the final quarter.
