TEMPLE CITY — Temple City Halloween Festival activities will fill Live Oak Park with trick-or-treating, games and seasonal attractions on Saturday, Oct. 31. The city is also recruiting residents to help bring two of the evening’s attractions to life.
The festival runs from 6 to 9 p.m. at Live Oak Park, 10144 Bogue St. Temple City Parks and Recreation is planning activities for families throughout the three-hour event.
Visitors can expect a trunk-or-treat, haunted maze, game booths, an inflatable zone and arts and crafts. The city also plans photo opportunities, food vendors and plenty of candy.
Costume Patrol Adds Prizes To Festival
The Temple City Halloween Festival will include a Costume Patrol searching the park for standout costumes. Selected participants will receive prizes, according to the city.
Families should bring their own trick-or-treat bags for candy. Food trucks will sell meals and treats during the event.
The inflatable attractions will be free, but participants must complete a waiver before entering them. Families can submit the waiver online until 5 p.m. Oct. 31. Hard-copy forms will also be available at the festival.
People who complete the online waiver can pick up free wristbands at a designated booth during the event.
Parking at Live Oak Park will be limited. The city says street parking will be available around the area.
Residents can find event details and the inflatable waiver through the Temple City Halloween Festival page.
City Seeks Trunk-Or-Treat Hosts
Residents can also participate by hosting a decorated vehicle for the trunk-or-treat attraction. The city is accepting reservations through Oct. 23.
The promotional material directs prospective hosts to an online sign-up form. It does not specify whether participants must provide their own candy, so prospective hosts should confirm requirements with Parks and Recreation.
The trunk-or-treat will join the other activities at Live Oak Park during the Oct. 31 festival.
Haunted Maze Needs Volunteer Actors
Temple City is also looking for volunteers willing to provide some Halloween scares.
Parks and Recreation is seeking 10 actors to participate in the haunted maze from 6 to 9 p.m. Volunteers can register through a QR code included on the city’s recruitment flyer.
The recruitment material does not list an age requirement for maze actors. Interested residents should contact the department for participation requirements before signing up.
The combination of community volunteers and city-organized attractions gives residents several ways to participate, whether they want to hand out treats, perform inside the maze or simply attend with family and friends.
For questions about the festival, trunk-or-treat registration or haunted maze volunteering, residents can call Temple City Parks and Recreation at 626-579-0461.
With activities concentrated at Live Oak Park, the Oct. 31 celebration offers Temple City families a community gathering place for Halloween night and gives local volunteers a role in creating the festivities.
