Mountain View School District Preschool Programs continue to accept applications for the 2021-2022 school year for the Early Head Start program for expecting mothers and children 0-3 years old, the Head Start and State Preschool programs for children ages 3 to 4 years old offered at Baker, Cogswell, Maxson, Miramonte, Monte Vista, Parkview, and Payne schools. The programs are free for eligible families and half-day and full day options are available, as well as full day, year-round services.
“Our programs include services for children with special needs, family resources and support, health and nutritional services, and healthy meals and snacks,” said Dr. Aileen LaCorte, Principal of Preschool Programs. “Children in our preschool programs are healthier, more likely to graduate from college, and live healthier lives,” she added. “We encourage families in the El Monte and South El Monte communities with preschoolers to register today.”
The mission of MVSD’s preschool programs is to prepare children and parents to become school ready by acquiring long-lasting skills and knowledge that will provide them with the ability to become contributing and functioning members of society.
MVSD has been participating in the Head Start program since its inception in 1965 and is proud to be celebrating its 57th year in operation, providing exception early childhood education for the community’s youngest children.
