Mountain View High School in El Monte continues to offer a range of academic support services designed to help students succeed in and out of the classroom.

The services, outlined in a recent school flier, include a Learning Lab in Room 605, after-school prep tutoring in the media center and 24/7 online tutoring through Tutor.com. Together, these Mountain View High School academic support services provide structured study time, direct staff assistance and flexible virtual help.

Learning Lab Provides Structured Setting

The Learning Lab, located in Room 605, serves as a separate setting for testing and additional time for make-up exams. Students also may use the space to read quietly, complete assignments or seek help with coursework.

According to the flier, staff members supervise the lab throughout the school day by class period. Principal Erika Perdomo and teachers rotate coverage, offering students access to support across multiple periods.

The posted schedule lists Perdomo and Mx. Su during Period 1, Ms. Su during Period 2, Ms. Sauer in Period 3, Mr. Lopez in Period 4, Ms. Tan in Period 5, Mr. Rosales in Period 6 and Mr. M. in Period 7.

School leaders describe the Learning Lab as a space that promotes focus and accountability. By providing a quieter environment, the lab supports students who need fewer distractions or additional time to complete assessments.

After-School Tutoring In Media Center

Mountain View High School academic support services also include free prep tutoring in the media center every weekday from 2 to 6 p.m.

The after-school program encourages a culture of learning and consistent study habits. Students can receive help with assignments, review material before exams and ask questions about challenging concepts.

The flier lists Ms. Angie as available Mondays and Fridays for tutoring as needed. Ms. Miranda is available Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Ms. Adrianna provides tutoring every Thursday.

Staff encourage students to attend regularly and to communicate with their classroom teachers about areas of concern. The flier reminds students that their teacher is their best resource when working to raise grades.

24/7 Online Tutoring Access

In addition to on-campus options, students have access to Tutor.com, which offers individualized, one-to-one tutoring online at any time of day.

Tutoring sessions are available in English and Spanish. Students can log in through their Google student accounts. The service also allows students to upload written assignments and receive feedback within 12 hours.

By maintaining in-person and virtual options, Mountain View High School academic support services aim to meet a range of student needs. School officials encourage students and families to take advantage of the available resources to strengthen academic performance and stay on track toward graduation.
