The county began accepting applications at 9 a.m. Feb. 9. The window closes at 4:59 p.m. March 11, 2026. Eligible households in El Monte, South El Monte, Baldwin Park, Rosemead, Arcadia, Temple City and Irwindale may apply.
County officials urge residents to review requirements and submit applications before the deadline. The program provides grants to households facing emergency financial hardship that has led to unpaid rent or related housing costs.
What LA County Emergency Rent Relief Covers
The LA County Emergency Rent Relief Program offers grants for past-due rent and certain housing-related expenses. Eligible households may receive up to six months of assistance, capped at $15,000 per rental unit, with limited exceptions.
Covered expenses may include unpaid rental debt and some utilities tied to documented financial hardship. The county sends approved payments directly to landlords to resolve outstanding balances.
