Physical therapy aide training is coming to El Monte-Rosemead Adult School this January, offering local residents an affordable path into the healthcare field. The short-term program begins January 6, 2026, and costs just $25 to enroll. With no prerequisites and evening classes, the course is designed to meet the needs of working adults and job seekers throughout the San Gabriel Valley.

Physical therapy aide training includes hands-on instruction

Classes are scheduled Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5 to 9 p.m. and will be held at the El Monte-Rosemead Adult School campus, located at 10807 Ramona Blvd. in El Monte. The program prepares students for entry-level positions supporting physical therapists in hospitals, outpatient clinics, and rehabilitation facilities.

The course focuses on essential job skills, including patient mobility assistance, therapy equipment setup, safety protocols, and administrative support. While exact course content may vary, students typically receive instruction aligned with industry expectations for aide-level roles in physical therapy settings.

Program includes support services and flexible options

To help families participate, the school is offering free babysitting for children ages 3 to 11 during class hours. This feature removes a key barrier for adult learners balancing job training with parenting responsibilities.

The physical therapy aide training is part of the school’s Career Technical Education (CTE) Medical Schedule, which includes multiple pathways into healthcare professions. With rising demand for entry-level workers in physical rehabilitation, the training can open doors to long-term career growth.

There are no academic or experience requirements to enroll, making this an accessible option for recent high school graduates, individuals changing careers, or those re-entering the workforce.

Affordable entry into a growing healthcare field

Tuition for the course is only $25. While uniforms and supplies are not included, the low enrollment cost makes this one of the most affordable healthcare training options in the region. Prospective students are encouraged to check the full CTE Medical Schedule for other related courses and requirements.

El Monte-Rosemead Adult School’s continued focus on affordable, flexible job training reflects its commitment to workforce readiness and community development.
