El Monte High staff hit the road—figuratively—on May 9 for a festive “Road Trippin’” Day, part of the school’s weeklong celebration of Teacher and Staff Appreciation Week.
The event brought together faculty and staff for a morning of refreshments, games, and gratitude on campus. Local businesses Cyber Yogurt and Tierra Mia Coffee contributed to the celebration with donations of coffee, pastries, and bionicos.
Local Donors Support Campus Community
El Monte High staff gathered in the courtyard where tables were set with treats from the community. The support from Cyber Yogurt and Tierra Mia Coffee added a sweet touch to the day, which was organized to highlight the hard work of school employees across departments.
Staff mingled over morning snacks and enjoyed a moment of relaxation before the school day began. The treats offered a small but meaningful gesture of thanks for the vital role teachers, aides, custodians, and office personnel play in the life of the school.
Prize Wheel Brings Game Show Excitement
After breakfast, the celebration kicked up a notch with a “Survivor”-themed prize wheel. Spinning the wheel sent participants on quick missions or challenges—ranging from quirky dares to small tasks—with prizes on the line.
The interactive game encouraged friendly competition and team spirit among departments. More importantly, it offered a fun break from the day’s usual pace.
Appreciation Week Continues Across Campus
“Road Trippin’” Day was one of several themed days during Teacher and Staff Appreciation Week. Each day featured different treats and recognition activities coordinated by school leadership.
As the week continued, El Monte High staff were reminded of their value through daily celebrations, thoughtful gifts, and kind messages from students and families.
This show of appreciation reflects the strong culture of support at El Monte High and within the El Monte Union High School District, where staff dedication is honored with gratitude and community partnership.
