Technology plays an integral role within all instructional delivery models being presented for the 2020-21 school year. The El Monte Union High School District remains committed to providing “Access to ALL” for every student. Through our Access for All learning initiative and a wonderful partnership with the 1 Million Project, every EMUHSD student receives a dedicated Chromebook device, Google email account, and an internet hotspot (MiFi) device, should they not have reliable internet access at home.
To date, EMUHSD has provided over 9,000 Chromebooks to students and over 1800 MiFi internet hotspots. We have established over 1700 Google Classrooms to facilitate the daily flow of classroom instruction, materials, assignments, and more for the support our digital learning environments.
Incoming freshman will receive their devices prior to the start of Summer School or Fall Semester, whichever comes first in their schedules. The required form(s) for this program can be found here. A student Google account is required in order to fill out these forms. If the student has not yet received this information, they are encouraged to contact the school to have it emailed or a printed copy generate for pick up.
EMUHSD’s team of dedicated technical support staff will continue to provide a vast array of support and guidance to our students, parents/guardians, and educators, for all sites regardless of what instructional models are in place for 2020-21.
At this time, the district is unable to provide in-person physical technical support, but they have setup student help desk email accounts, per site, to provide assistance to students on distance learning or mobile technology questions.
The staff assigned to monitor these school help desk accounts will be doing their best to provide timely answers to all students needing assistance during business hours.
A list of email addresses used for technical support can be found on the District website under the reopen schools page at www.emuhsd.org/reopenschools.
