A longtime Claremont community leader and Citrus College alumna has been selected to lead the Citrus Community College District Board of Trustees in 2026.
Laura J. Bollinger was appointed board president during the board’s annual organization meeting held Dec. 9, 2025, according to a statement from Citrus Community College District. Bollinger, who represents Trustee Area 2, was first elected to the board in 2020 and reelected in 2024.
Trustee Area 2 includes Claremont and portions of Pomona and La Verne, communities that regularly rely on Citrus College for transfer education, career training, and workforce development. As board president, Bollinger will help guide policy decisions and set priorities for the district during the coming year.
“I am honored that my colleagues have selected me to serve as board president for 2026, and I look forward to continuing to give back to the institution that helped shape my educational journey,” Bollinger said. “As a proud Citrus College alumna, I am deeply committed to supporting student success and working with my fellow trustees to advance the college’s mission.”
Community Ties And Board Leadership
In addition to her service on the Citrus Community College District Board of Trustees, Bollinger is active in several regional organizations. She serves as a member of the Fairplex Association and the Los Angeles County Library Foundation, reflecting a long record of civic involvement across the San Gabriel Valley.
College officials said her experience and local engagement position her well to lead the board during a time when community colleges continue to face enrollment shifts, funding pressures, and evolving workforce demands.
The board’s annual organization meeting also included the installation of new officers. Dr. Anthony Contreras was named vice president, and Dr. Randa B. Wahbe was selected as clerk and secretary of the board. Steven Bluitt Flowers and Dr. Cheryl Alexander will continue serving as trustees, while A.J. Hernandez will remain in his role as student trustee.
Supporting Citrus College’s Mission
Dr. Greg Schulz, superintendent and president of Citrus College, said the board’s leadership plays a central role in shaping the college’s future.
“The board of trustees plays a critical role in setting the vision for our district,” Schulz said. “Each member brings a wealth of experience and a shared passion for fostering growth and opportunity to their role.”
Schulz added that he looks forward to working with Bollinger and the full board as the college continues efforts to support students and strengthen ties with surrounding communities.
Citrus College serves students from throughout the eastern San Gabriel Valley, including El Monte, Baldwin Park, and neighboring cities, through academic transfer programs, career education, and lifelong learning opportunities.
College leaders said Bollinger’s appointment reflects continuity and stability at the governance level as the district advances its educational mission in 2026. More information about the Citrus Community College District and board activities is available at https://www.citruscollege.edu.
