BALDWIN PARK — The Baldwin Park City Council recognized two organizations helping prepare local youth and job seekers for successful careers during its July 15 meeting. The city honored the Baldwin Park Workforce Partnership through a proclamation recognizing the 2026 NextGen Youth Workforce Program and presented a certificate of recognition to Managed Career Solutions for its ongoing commitment to workforce development.
City leaders said the recognition reflects Baldwin Park’s continued investment in expanding career pathways and educational opportunities for residents while strengthening the local workforce.
Baldwin Park Workforce Partnership Builds Career Pathways
The NextGen Youth Workforce Program serves residents ages 14 to 24 by connecting them with employers, career mentors and educational resources. The program offers paid work experience, career coaching, resume assistance, interview preparation and exposure to career opportunities that help participants build confidence before entering the workforce.
For many young adults, the program provides a first opportunity to gain real-world work experience while exploring careers aligned with their interests and long-term goals.
The initiative launched in Baldwin Park in 2022 through a partnership involving the city, Goodwill Southern California, the Los Angeles County America’s Job Center of California, Baldwin Park Unified School District and other community organizations. Since its launch, the program has expanded opportunities for local youth to gain practical experience while developing professional skills valued by employers.

Community Collaboration Strengthens Local Workforce
Alongside the NextGen Youth Workforce Program, the council recognized Managed Career Solutions, a nonprofit organization that partners with public agencies throughout Los Angeles County to help residents prepare for employment and career advancement.
The organization provides career counseling, resume development, interview preparation, job placement assistance and referrals to vocational training, apprenticeship programs and educational opportunities. Its partnership with Baldwin Park extends those resources to residents entering the workforce, returning after an absence or pursuing new careers.
The council’s recognition reflects a broader trend among local governments investing in workforce development through partnerships with schools, nonprofit organizations and employers. As industries across Southern California continue seeking skilled workers, apprenticeship programs, technical education and certificate programs have become important pathways into careers that offer competitive wages without requiring a traditional four-year degree.
