Halloween Fun at Los Angeles Fall Fair

by | Nov 2, 2025 | Around the Valley, South El Monte

Families across the San Gabriel Valley can look forward to a spirited celebration this Halloween as the 45th annual Los Angeles Fall Fair returns to South El Monte. Running Fridays through Sundays from October 24 to November 2 at Whittier Narrows Recreation Park, the event promises a full lineup of rides, games, and seasonal treats that appeal to all ages.

Family-Friendly Halloween Activities

Halloween Day, falling on Friday, October 31, will highlight the fair’s most festive offerings. Children who arrive in costume will receive free cotton candy and can collect candy at every ride and game booth while supplies last. A Halloween scavenger hunt invites kids 12 and under to explore the fairgrounds; the first 140 participants to complete it will earn a free stuffed animal. Organizers remind parents that costume safety rules apply—no capes, long jewelry, or loose items are allowed on rides.

Alongside the trick-or-treating, live music and local food vendors will keep families entertained throughout the evening. The fair is open late on Halloween, offering a safe and festive alternative to neighborhood events.

Affordable Fun for Local Families

Admission is $5, cash only at the gate, while children under 8 and seniors 65 and older enter free. Parking at La Prada Event Plaza, located at 1600 N. Rosemead Boulevard, is also free. For families planning to enjoy the carnival, unlimited ride wristbands are available at discounted presale rates: $25 for Halloween Day and $26–$32 on other days, depending on the date. Gate prices are slightly higher.

The fair’s attractions include classic carnival rides, skill games, a food court featuring regional favorites, and an artisan market spotlighting local crafts. Parents can purchase wristbands online in advance at www.LAFallFair.com to save time and money.

Celebrating 45 Years of Community Tradition

Organized in partnership with the Los Angeles County Department of Parks and Recreation, the Los Angeles Fall Fair has grown into a local tradition that brings together residents from South El Monte, El Monte, Rosemead, and surrounding cities. The event’s location at Whittier Narrows Recreation Park offers plenty of open space for families to relax and enjoy the festive atmosphere.

Over the past four decades, the fair has become known for balancing big-city entertainment with small-town community spirit. From live bands to handmade crafts, the fair celebrates the creativity and diversity of the San Gabriel Valley while providing a safe environment for families to make memories together.

A Seasonal Outing Close to Home

As Halloween weekend approaches, organizers expect strong attendance, especially from local schools and youth groups. The fair’s mix of activities, from rides to costume contests, gives families an affordable way to celebrate the season without traveling far. For many longtime residents, the Fall Fair marks the unofficial end of summer and the start of the holiday season.

Gates open Fridays through Sundays through November 2. Full schedules, wristband details, and presale links are available at La Prada Events.
