Irwindale Honors Local Heroes at Veterans Day Ceremony

Irwindale will honor military service members and veterans with a special Veterans Day Ceremony on Tuesday, Nov. 11, at 11 a.m. The event will take place at the city’s Veterans Monument, located on the service road in front of City Hall.

The annual gathering, organized by the City of Irwindale, pays tribute to the men and women who have served in the United States Armed Forces. This year’s ceremony will include the city’s traditional Roll Call Ceremony, a moment to recognize the names displayed on the Veterans Monument, and will be live-streamed on Facebook and Instagram at @CityofIrwindale for those unable to attend in person.

Yard Sign Recognition for Local Veterans

In the weeks leading up to Veterans Day, Irwindale residents who are veterans or active-duty military members can sign up to receive an honorary yard sign recognizing their service. Signs will be delivered the week of Oct. 27 and collected on Nov. 17.

Interested residents must apply by Wednesday, Oct. 16, by contacting Berlyn Aguila at 626-430-2218, scanning the QR code on the city’s flyer, or visiting City Hall. Each application must include the honoree’s name, branch of service, address, and contact information. The program is open only to current Irwindale residents who are veterans or on active duty.

Community Participation Encouraged

The city is also inviting residents to take part in the “Recognize a Veteran” campaign by posting a photo of, or with, their favorite veteran on social media. Participants can tag @cityofirwindale and use the hashtags #irwindaleveteran, #irwindalerocks, and #cityofirwindale to share their messages of gratitude.

Organizers encourage community members to celebrate not only veterans but also those currently serving in the military. Families with loved ones on active duty can contact Aguila to submit their names and branches of service for acknowledgment.

A Tribute to Service and Sacrifice

Irwindale’s Veterans Day event continues a long-standing tradition of honoring those who have defended the nation. The ceremony offers residents an opportunity to gather, reflect, and express appreciation for their neighbors who have served.
