Rosemead residents and business owners interested in learning about local crime and prevention strategies are invited to attend a Community Area Watch Meeting on Thursday, Oct. 16, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Rosemead Community Center, 3936 Muscatel Avenue.

The meeting focuses on Reporting Districts 0533 and 0530, covering the areas near Rush Street, San Gabriel Boulevard, Walnut Grove Avenue, the 10 Freeway, Lower Azusa Road, Delta Avenue, Valley Boulevard, and Rio Hondo Drive. The event is hosted by the City of Rosemead Public Safety Department in partnership with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Temple Station Special Assignment Team.

Learning About Local Crime Trends
Attendees will have the opportunity to learn about Part I Crimes, recent crime trends, and practical ways to report criminal activity. The discussion will also include public safety topics such as emergency preparedness, code enforcement, and homeless outreach resources.

In addition, presentations will cover animal control services and parking enforcement — areas of frequent concern among Rosemead residents. Public Safety Supervisor Mandy Wong said the meeting is designed to give the community a chance to connect directly with those responsible for keeping neighborhoods safe.

Building Stronger Community Connections
The meeting offers residents a unique opportunity to meet Rosemead Chief of Police Lt. Tiwari, the Special Assignment Deputy who patrols the 0533 and 0530 districts, as well as members of the Code Enforcement and Public Safety teams.

“These meetings strengthen the connection between the Sheriff’s Department and the community,” Wong said. “It’s a forum to ask questions, share observations, and find ways we can all work together to reduce crime.”

Rosemead has been active in supporting neighborhood watch programs and encouraging community-based crime prevention. According to the Public Safety Department, regular communication between residents and law enforcement has been key to reducing property crimes and improving public awareness.

Promoting Safety and Preparedness
Along with crime reporting and prevention strategies, the session will include tips for staying safe in public spaces and resources for emergency preparedness. The city will share information on how residents can become more involved through neighborhood watch groups and volunteer programs.

The City of Rosemead continues to promote public safety as a shared responsibility, encouraging residents to remain alert and informed about local issues.
