The City of Baldwin Park, in collaboration with the Consulate General of Mexico in Los Angeles, is once again making consular services more accessible to local residents. Throughout October 2025, the Consulate on Wheels program will be stationed at the Esther Snyder Community Center at Morgan Park, offering free services by appointment.
The mobile consulate is designed to support community members who may face difficulties traveling to Los Angeles for essential documentation. Services include issuing Mexican passports, consular identification cards, and voting credentials. By bringing these services directly into Baldwin Park, officials hope to ease the process for residents and ensure that families can stay connected with vital resources.
Appointments are required for all services, and they are free of charge. The program will run during four separate weeks in October—beginning October 7 through 11, then continuing October 14 to 18, October 21 to 25, and finally October 28 through November 1. To help residents plan ahead, new appointment slots open every Wednesday before the scheduled service week.
Booking an appointment is simple. Residents can call the dedicated phone line at (424) 309-0009 between 8 a.m. and 7 p.m., or send a WhatsApp message with the word “HOLA” to the same number. For those who prefer to go online, appointments can also be scheduled at citas.sre.gob.mx.
City leaders emphasized that the Consulate on Wheels program is part of Baldwin Park’s ongoing commitment to supporting its diverse community. Hosting the consulate locally not only saves residents time and travel costs but also ensures access to important services that strengthen family and community ties.
This is not the first time Baldwin Park has partnered with the Mexican Consulate. The program’s success in prior visits has led to strong community demand for its return. During its previous stays, hundreds of residents received new passports and identification cards, often completing the process in just one visit. For many, these documents are essential for travel, employment, and verification of legal identity in both the United States and Mexico.
Local officials have encouraged residents to make their appointments early and to share the opportunity with family, friends, and neighbors who may benefit. The City of Baldwin Park continues to view partnerships like this as a reflection of its commitment to inclusion, accessibility, and service to the community.
The Esther Snyder Community Center, located at 4100 Baldwin Park Boulevard, will once again serve as the hub for these vital consular services throughout October.
